Does the founder take a salary?
Any officer compensation is set by disinterested directors, benchmarked against comparable organisations of similar budget size, and recorded in the minutes before it is paid. The current figure appears in the quarterly report and will appear on Form 990 once filed.
Does the foundation pay any business connected to the founder?
If it does, it is disclosed here in full — the amount, the service and the board vote that approved it, with the interested director recused. Related-party transactions are legal for a public charity at fair market value with proper procedure. Hiding them is not.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Not yet. Our 501(c)(3) application is pending. Until a determination letter is issued, contributions are not deductible and we say so on every page.
What happens if you miss a public goal?
It stays on the site with the actual number next to it. We would rather show a bar at 41% than quietly change the target.
